The Republican establishment is cheering Fox News for taking Tucker Carlson off the air.

RINOs are breathing a sigh of relief.

And Mitt Romney let the cat out of the bag on why Fox News canceled Tucker Carlson.

Mitt Romney is one of the biggest cheerleaders for Joe Biden’s pointless war against Russia over Ukraine.

In fact, Romney’s only complaint is that Joe Biden hasn’t shipped greater amounts of U.S. taxpayer money to the corrupt Ukrainian government faster.

Polls showed a growing resistance among rank-and-file Republicans to supporting a blank check for Joe Biden’s war to secure the Ukrainian border.

An Axios/Ipsos poll taken in March found just 42 percent of Americans support Joe Biden’s scheme to escalate the war through weapons shipments.

Many establishment Republicans blamed Carlson – who owned the largest platform as the 8PM host on Fox News – for the rising GOP opposition to unlimited funding for the war in Ukraine.

In an interview with The Hill, Romney falsely claimed the war against Russia over Ukraine was “one of the greatest demonstrations of good versus evil we’ve seen in our lifetimes.”

Romney claimed Carlson brainwashed Republican voters with a hypnotic spell into opposing war even Joe Biden admits could escalate to nuclear Armageddon.

“There have been some that have argued that he was setting foreign policy for the Republican Party, which I find to be bizarre. Certainly not for me,” Romney stated. “To the Primary [Republican] voter, the active participant, the grassroot voter, he’s a person they listen to and has a big influence.”

Romney questioned Carlson’s role in the GOP saying “it depends on the issue but I think with regards to Russia and Ukraine he was misguided.”

“It’s really disheartening and disappointing that an intelligent person would take a stance defending people who break into the symbol of democracy here and around the world,” Romney added.

Other Republicans on Capitol Hill were not so eager to put their names attached to quotes trashing Carlson.

That’s because unlike Mitt Romney, they want to pretend they are still Republicans.

“It’s a bad day for Vladimir Putin,” a Senate Republican aide declared. “This takes one of the biggest critics of Ukraine war in Republican and conservative circles off the table.”

“He wasn’t troubled by whether something was true or not. He was mean, irresponsible, and dangerous,” an anonymous Republican Senator said in a statement to The Hill.
